A life of bliss - the journey within is primarily a love story that starts with an unexpected pregnancy which pushes the young protagonists, Anna and Raja, to make difficult life decisions. Moving away from a family which did not garner any support or confidence in their relationship, to a continent far away from home.

How could one blame the family? Anna and Raja came from different continents, having led a different life, upbringings, cultures, and backgrounds. However, the Italian girl and the traditional south Indian boy who met in Bonn proved everybody wrong despite having a very tumultuous journey, 20 years later they were still together.

The book delves into profound themes of resilience, adaptation, and facing life's most challenging moments, exploring the struggles of starting anew, the complexities of life in unfamiliar surroundings, and the courage needed in the face of adversity.

Regardless of what they faced, their love was never affected.

Meet The Characters

Anna

The woman who fell in love with a foreigner

Anna quickly went from being a girl with big dreams to becoming a strong woman with all the responsibilities that comes with it. Even though life goes against her on many occasions, she remains strong and faces everything she has to with the love of Raja and her children.

Raja

Raja, the Indian man who feels incomplete without the love of Anna.

Raja gave up money, family and everything he knew to have a life with Anna and their son who is about to be born. Giving up everything comes with a huge price.

Kumar

Raja's twin brother.

Raja and Kumar supported each other through the difficult situations they faced back home. Their love is very deep, but it is not enough to sustain them in supporting each other for their entire lives. They are faced with the biggest and most complicated decision of their lives: breaking their relationship for the greater good of everyone involved.

Delia

Anna's sister

Anna's sister, a complex character who is often considered crazy by most, but she is far from it. Her support for Anna evolves over time, though her love remains constant. Deep down, she admires and loves her sister deeply.

Albina

Anna and Delia's mother

Anna and Delia's mother, a woman born in another era who had the potential to be both successful and independent. However, she respected societal pressures and instead focused on helping her daughter Anna become independent. She is the only one capable of managing Anna and Delia's father. Mamma works behind the scenes to ensure everything happens according to her will.

Isabella

Anna's best friend from school.

Over the years, their friendship remained strong, with Isabella often playing the role of a steadfast supporter. While Anna sometimes struggled to reciprocate equally, Isabella was always there by her side.

Sonja & Alfred

Anna's guardians in Germany.

Anna's family trusted them enough to let her live with them for some time. However, they didn’t do the best job, as it was through them that Anna met Raja.

Zena

The tarot reader

Anna’s confidante and a friend of Sonja in Germany. This relationship created a potential conflict of interest, but Zena never failed to keep Anna’s secrets from Sonja.

Gustav

Raja’s best friend in Germany

A joyful and resourceful person who helps Raja find solutions to his problems.

Anna's father

A harsh man who does not tolerate mistakes from his daughters. He would rather give up on them than be understanding. He does not truly take part in their upbringing.
